The walk in Nova Scotia, Canada will take place from 8 - 20 September 2010.
The fund raising walk has become a vital event in our annual fund raising calendar. Proceeds raised over the years, through the walks, have contributed substantially to research and development at the National Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in St Jame's Hospital.
Support for the unit is vital. The Trust is committed to backing the Unit in everyway possible both in terms of hospital service and support / assistance for the patients.
Each participant will have to raise 4,800.
Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust will be responsible for:
- Air and coach travel
- Accommodation and food
- Insurance
- Official Clothing
Walk in the Natural Beauty and Wilderness of Nova Scotia.
Join us and experience this picturesque and historic province. Nova Scotia offers an exttavagant variety of landscapes, the scene seems to change kaleidoscopically from dense forests to bucolic framlands, from ragged coast to melancholy bogs and from historic villages to dynamic downtowns. Visit Crystal Crescent Beach looking out at the oldest operating Lighthouse in North America "Sambro Light". We'll travel to Lunenberg a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll walk out to Gaff Point with the great stretch of isolated white sands of Hirtle Beach, also such trails as Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct Park, Cape Split, the beautiful town of Baddeck we'll follow the trail that explores Baddeck river and the mystically beautiful Uisge Ban Falls (Gaelic for white water)famous Cabot Trail, the LĄcadian Trail, Burnt Mountain, the famous Skyline Trail, we will hike a trail that follows a river path to Corney Brook Falls and much more
