Ed Miliano
Ed Miliano was born in New York in 1954. He studied art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
Ed has been a full-time artist since 2007, after twenty-five years spent working as a designer and illustrator in the USA and Ireland. He also taught third-level design and illustration in Dublin. It’s A Jungle Out There, his first book for children was published by Wolfhound Press, Dublin in 1997 and has received many awards, including the Bisto Book of the Year Éilis Dillon Award.
His solo shows include Ed Miliano, Paintings and Drawings from Dar es Salaam at the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin in 2011, Ed Miliano, Paintings, Collages and Drawings at the Alliance Française in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2010 and Flower Paintings, also at the National Botanic Gardens in 2004-5. He has exhibited in the RHA Annual Exhibitions in 2006 and 2007.
On New Year’s Day in 2011, Ed began a new project called Diary. He is making one picture a day of the view from his studio. He will show this piece in its entirety when it is completed. The work is being posted daily on his website
He lives in County Dublin, Ireland.
